THE FLOWER FORMULAS: AN AID FOR THE ABRUZZO

On April 7, 2009, the day after the earthquake that struck Abruzzo, I received a text message to a fellow flower-therapist who said something like: "See those people who are suffering and know that they could be helped by flower remedies leads me to want to intervene. What can we do? ".

We decided to immediately contact our association, the Union of Flower Therapy in Milan and the Italian RIF register to ask how to act in case of disaster.
The board was promptly activated by contacting members living in central Italy and the distribution companies of Essences that have offered free formula suitable for floral relief, some of which were created for September 11th by FES from California.

It was not easy to intervene with flower therapy to help people affected trying not to disrupt the associations that lend their help and have passed a few months before they can act directly on the spot, but that small contribution that the flowers were able to bring it was extremely significant.

Here is the guide intervention in support of the people of Abruzzo earthquake prepared by RIF (Italian Register of flower-therapist):

"In the days immediately after the earthquake, thanks to the solicitation of some members, we sought a way to give official support to the people of Abruzzo emotionally affected by the earthquake.

We have contacted the Catholic and secular voluntary associations, the Civil Defense have sought contacts with politicians and private, with distributors and producers of flower essences.

In mid-July, our contact person for Abruzzo, Maria Nicoletta Bucchicchio, met with the Dean and Head of Psychology at the University Hospital of L'Aquila, Professor and Director Casacchia health Presidio c / o Ospedale S. Salvatore Aquila.
The meeting was held in a container with departments housed in tents policed by the military.

The Prof said he was willing to get in touch with the doctors of the tent camps as managers in the health fields, but we are not been contacted. (Probably so difficult that situation did not facilitate their intervention in favor of Flowers).

We decided to turn our proposal of direct aid to the mayors of the affected countries. We have sent by registered post to all the mayors of the affected countries, and to those the so-called crater, the epicenter of the quake, both in neighboring countries, the proposal of our intervention with documentation related to our association RIF Italian Registry flower-therapist and consultant in the profile of the Flower Essences.

They said two countries: Castel del Monte and Poggio Picenze.

In particular the Mayor of Poggio Picenze declared himself very interested in our proposal with flower remedies for emotional support to earthquake victims as it considered necessary for its people, this type of intervention which is not had been eligible, except for a few days immediately after the earthquake thanks to some psychologists.

In the month of August in these two countries, our contact person for Abruzzo Dr. Bucchicchio, held meetings for the presentation of the remedies to the population and distributed essences Flourish and Rescue Remedy.

The first country Castel del Monte is a tourist town at the foot of Gran Sasso, only marginally affected by the earthquake: here people attended the meeting, a dozen, including tourists from Rome and Milan, did not require further meetings.

The meeting took place in the hall of the Municipal Theatre was not advertised by the deputy mayor who had yet appeared enthusiastic about the initiative.

In Picenze Poggio the situation was very different: it is a village near Onna, hard hit by the earthquake, with collapse and victims.
After the first meeting in which they were distributed in particular mixtures California Flourish Gref Relief and Post Trauma Stabilizer, and Rescue Remedy as support for post-earthquake.

The people who took part expressed the need to be followed by individual meetings. The meetings began in October on a weekly basis continues today. In November 2010 he was taking a course on the use of Bach flower remedies.

The costs of these initiatives are been supported by the Italian Register RIF flower-therapist helped by some donations in flower essences, is that Bach's repertoire Florish California (Natur), and discounts on materials for the preparation of remedies (Dileo).

At the end of March, the RIF will have, for lack of funds, suspend its financial support to the initiative, but Dr. Bucchicchio (pharmacist, herbalist and a psychologist) will continue his involvement with meetings and conferences dedicated to research and observation of Bach flower remedies can be found which is in the mountains of Abruzzo.

Intervention in Abruzzo although numerically small, despite the effort and commitment including economic cost to our association, but it seems extremely important, primarily for the support that is could lead to people so tragically affected and who had not received any support except for an occasional emotional provided by psychologists, but also for the exposure given to the thought of Bach and the official recognition that the two unions have given to our initiative."
